Ce dimanche 4 juillet - 9e étape : Cluses - Tignes, 145 km (montagne), O'Connor la 9e étape, Pogacar facile, Gaudu distancé

Au terme d'une course une nouvelle fois haletante disputée dans des conditions extrêmes, Ben O'Connor (AG2R Citroën) a remporté la 9e étape du Tour de France en réalisant un incroyable numéro. Présent dans l'échappée du jour, l'Australien s'est retrouvé en tête en compagnie de Nairo Quintana (Arkéa-Samsic) et Sergio Higuita (EF Education-Nippo) avant de déposer les deux Colombiens - qui ont complètement craqué - dans la montée vers Tignes. Au final, il s'est imposé avec plus de 5 minutes d'avance sur Mattia Cattaneo (Deceuninck - Quick Step) et le surprenant Sonny Colbrelli (Bahrain-Victorious), qui marque de précieux points pour le maillot vert.

Samedi 3 juillet - 8e étape : Oyonnax - Le Grand Bornand, 151 km (montagne)
Dylan Teuns la 8e étape, Pogacar écrase ses rivaux !

Deux après sa victoire au sommet de La Planche des Belles Filles, Dylan Teuns a remporté ce samedi sous la pluie la 8e étape du Tour de France. Membre de la bonne échappée du jour, le coureur de la Bahrain Victorious a su résister au retour ahurissant d'un Tadej Pogacar (UAE-Team Emirates) qui a littéralement assommé la 108e Grande Boucle ce samedi. Le Slovène a distancé tous ses prétendus rivaux dans le col de Romme, à plus de 30 kilomètres de l'arrivée, avant de reprendre un à un tous les échappés, sauf Dylan Teuns. Quatrième au Grand-Bornand derrière Dylan Teuns, Ion Izagirre (Astana-Premier Tech) et Michael Woods (Israel Start-Up Nation), Tadej Pogacar a ainsi creusé des écarts énormes sur tous ses adversaires et pris le maillot jaune à Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix), qui a fini très loin.

Vendredi 2 juillet - 7e étape : Vierzon - Le Creusot, 249,100 km, Mohoric remporte la 7e étape, Roglic a perdu le Tour

Au terme d'une course magnifique de bout en bout, Matej Mohoric (Bahrain-Victorious) a remporté la 7e étape du Tour de France, une étape qui restera dans les annales. Présent dans la grosse échappée du jour en compagnie notamment de Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix) et Wout Van Aert (Jumbo-Visma), le Slovène est ensuite sorti à 80 kilomètres de l'arrivée avec trois autres coureurs avant de s'envoler seul dans le final. Il s'est finalement imposé en solitaire devant Jasper Stuyven (Trek-Segafredo), Magnus Cort Nielsen (EF Education Nippo) prenant la 3e place en réglant au sprint un petit groupe devant Van der Poel, qui conserve donc brillamment son maillot jaune.

6e étape : Tours - Châteauroux, 144 km (plat), Cavendish gagne la 6e étape, Bouhanni 3e, Démare 4e

Déjà vainqueur il y a deux jours, Mark Cavendish (Deceuninck - Quick Step) a remporté une deuxième victoire sur le Tour de France en s'adjugeant la 6e étape ce jeudi à Châteauroux, où il avait déjà gagné en 2008 et 2011. Le Britannique s'est montré le plus fort dans la dernière ligne droite en devançant Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Fenix) et Nacer Bouhanni (Arkéa-Samsic), qui s'offre un troisième podium en quatre jours mais qui rate encore la victoire. Absent des sprints depuis le début de la course, Arnaud Démare (Groupama-FDJ) s'est légèrement rassuré en prenant la 4e place. C'est la 32e victoire de la carrière de Cavendish sur le Tour de France, et il se rapproche à deux longueurs du record d'Eddy Merckx.

5e étape : Changé - Laval, 1er contre-la-montre individuel de 27,200 km. Tadej Pogacar le chrono, Van der Poel reste en jaune

Disputée sous la forme d'un contre-la-montre de 27,2 kilomètres, la 5e étape du Tour de France a vu la victoire ce mercredi de Tadej Pogacar ! Impressionnant de puissance, le leader de l'équipe UAE-Team Emirates s'est imposé avec 19 secondes d'avance sur Stefan Küng (Groupama-FDJ) et 27 sur Jonas Vingegaard (Team Jumbo-Visma). Très attendus, Wout Van Aert (Team Jumbo-Visma) a terminé quatrième à 30 secondes, alors que Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-Quick Step) a pris la quatorzième place à 1'11" de Tadej Pogacar. Ce dernier ne prend cependant pas le maillot jaune puisque Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix) a sorti un très grand chrono (5e à 31") et conserve ainsi sa tunique pour 8 secondes. Troisième et quatrième du général, Wout Van Aert et Julian Alaphilippe sont pointés respectivement à 30 et 48 secondes du Batave.

4e étape : Redon - Fougères, 152 km Mark Cavendish remporte la 4e étape devant Bouhanni !

Après l'exploit de Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix) à Mûr-de-Bretagne, les belles histoires se poursuivent sur ce Tour de France 2021 puisque Mark Cavendish a remporté ce mardi la 4e étape ! Le Britannique de la Deceuninck-Quick Step s'est imposé au sprint à Fougères devant Nacer Bouhanni (Team Arkéa-Samsic) et Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Fenix), s'offrant ainsi son 31e succès d'étape sur la Grande Boucle, revenant ainsi à trois longueurs du recordman Eddy Merckx. Beaucoup plus tranquille que celle de la veille, cette 4e étape n'a aucune incidence au classement général, Mathieu van der Poel conservant son maillot jaune à la veille du contre-la-montre entre Changé et Laval.

3e étape : Lorient - Pontivy, 182 km (plat).Tim Merlier dans le chaos, Roglic et Pogacar retardés

Au terme d'un final marqué par de nombreuses chutes, Tim Merlier (Alpecin-Fenix) a remporté la 3e étape du Tour de France devant son coéquipier Jasper Philipsen et Nacer Bouhanni (Arkéa-Samsic). L'ancien champion de Belgique a su passer entre les gouttes pour remporter son premier succès sur la Grande Boucle, alors que de nombreux favoris sont tombés et ont perdu du temps, à commencer par Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) et Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates). Lui aussi épargné par les chutes, Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix) a terminé 7e - juste derrière Julian Alaphilippe (Deceunnck - Quick Step) - et conserve le maillot jaune devant le Français.

2e étape : Perros-Guirec - Mûr-de-Bretagne, 182 km. Coup double pour Van der Poel !

Décevant samedi, Mathieu van der Poel a pris une éclatante revanche ce dimanche lors de la 2e étape du Tour de France en s'imposant à Mûr-de-Bretagne ! Le Néerlandais de la formation Alpecin-Fenix s'est envolé à un peu moins d'un kilomètre de l'arrivée et a franchi la ligne avec 6 secondes d'avance sur Tadej Pogacar (UAE-Team Emirates), Primoz Roglic (Team Jumbo-Visma) et Wilco Kelderman (BORA-hansgrohe). Cinquième à 8 secondes, Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-Quick Step) perd son maillot jaune au profit de Mathieu van der Poel, qui réalise ainsi dès son premier Tour de France ce que son grand-père, l'illustre Raymond Poulidor, n'avait jamais réussi à faire !

1ère étape : Brest - Landerneau, 187 km, Tour de France - Julian Alaphilippe remporte la 1ère étape, Roglic 3e.

Très attendu sur cette première étape du Tour de France, Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck - Quick Step) ne s'est pas loupé en s'imposant en solitaire à Landerneau. Le champion du monde a attaqué dans les pourcentages les plus durs de l'ascension finale, et personne n'a été capable de le suivre. Il a ensuite résisté jusqu'au bout au retour du groupe des leaders pour l'emporter et revêtir le premier maillot jaune de ce Tour de France !
