5ième étape : Aigle - Villars-sur-Ollon contre la montre de 15,8 km - Vlasov rafle tout sur la 5e étape, Dennis a explosé !
Aleksandr Vlasov a mis tout le monde d'accord ce dimanche lors du contre-la-montre en côte qui faisait office de 5e et dernière étape du Tour de Romandie. Troisième du classement général ce matin, le Russe de la BORA-hansgrohe a tout renversé en remportant ce chrono avec la manière, ce qui lui permet de succéder au palmarès à Geraint Thomas (INEOS Grenadiers). Il a devancé l'Allemand Simon Geschke (Cofidis) de 31 secondes, tandis que Gino Mäder (Bahrain Victorious) a terminé troisième à 36 secondes. Confirmant sa bonne forme actuelle, Thibaut Pinot (Groupama-FDJ) a pris la sixième place (+ 1'07"). En grosse difficulté lors de la seconde partie de ce chrono, Rohan Dennis (Team Jumbo-Visma) n'a terminé que 22e de cette étape, à 2'12" du vainqueur du jour, et tombe au huitième rang du classement général !

4ième étape : Aigle - Zinal 180,100 km - Higuita la 4e étape, Pinot 5e... Dennis reste leader
L'étape reine du Tour de Romandie a accouché d'une souris ce samedi ! En effet, après avoir repris Einer Rubio (Movistar Team) à 400 mètres de l'arrivée, c'est un groupe d'une vingtaine de coureurs qui s'est disputé la victoire à Zinal / Val d'Anniviers. Et sur cette arrivée en bosse, la BORA-hansgrohe a réalisé le doublé puisque le Colombien Sergio Higuita, victorieux pour la quatrième fois de la saison, a devancé le Russe Aleksandr Vlasov, ce dernier ayant laissé gagner son coéquipier. C'est l'Espagnol Juan Ayuso (UAE Team Emirates) qui a pris la troisième place, tandis que Thibaut Pinot (Groupama-FDJ) a franchi la ligne en cinquième position. 3ième étape : Valbroye - Valbroye 164,8 km, Bevin mate Hayter sur la 3e étape, Dennis 3e et leader
Vainqueur du Tour de Turquie il y a quelques jours, Patrick Bevin a confirmé son retour en grande forme ce vendredi en remportant à Valbroye la 3e étape du Tour de Romandie. Malin dans l'emballage final puisqu'il a fait son effort dès la sortie du dernier virage, le Néo-Zélandais de la formation Israel-Premier Tech a réglé au sprint un groupe d'une cinquantaine de coureurs. Il a devancé Ethan Hayter (INEOS Grenadiers), déjà double vainqueur d'étape cette semaine, et Rohan Dennis (Team Jumbo-Visma), le leader du classement général, qui a pris ainsi 4 secondes de bonifications, ce qui lui permet d'accentuer son avance sur ses principaux rivaux. Avant le week-end très difficile qui attend les coureurs, l'Australien possède 14 secondes d'avance sur Bevin et 18 sur Felix Grossschartner (BORA-hansgrohe).

2e étape : Échallens - Échallens, 168,2 km - Ethan Hayter la 2e étape et sa revanche, Dennis leader
Disputée autour d'Échallens (168,2 km), la 2e étape du Tour de Romandie a été remportée ce jeudi par le vainqueur du prologue il y a deux jours, le Britannique Ethan Hayter. Bien remis de sa chute survenue mercredi et qui lui a coûté la perte de son maillot de leader, le coureur de l'équipe INEOS Grenadiers s'est imposé au sprint devant l'Espagnol Jon Aberasturi (Trek-Segafredo) et le Colombien Fernando Gaviria (UAE Team Emirates). À noter l'étonnante quatrième place d'Aleksandr Vlasov (BORA-hansgrohe), qui s'est découvert des talents de sprinteur ce jeudi. Aucun changement n'est à signaler au classement général, l'Australien Rohan Dennis (Team Jumbo-Visma) conservant son maillot vert. Quant à Ethan Hayter, à 23 ans, il décroche déjà sa 13ème victoire chez les professionnels. Il est au porte du top 100 mondial des coureurs les plus victorieux en activité.

Sacré roi des puncheurs il y a une semaine sur La Flèche Wallonne, Dylan Teuns a de nouveau fait parler son explosivité ce mercredi à l'occasion de la 1ère étape du Tour de Romandie, qui se terminait au sommet d'une bosse. Après avoir été distancé par Rohan Dennis (Team Jumbo-Visma) à 500 mètres de l'arrivée, le Belge de la Bahrain Victorious est revenu comme une bombe sur le coureur australien dans le final et l'a coiffé sur la ligne. Arrivé à 2 secondes, Marc Hirschi (UAE Team Emirates) a pris la troisième place, tandis qu'Aleksandr Vlasov (BORA-hansgrohe) et Quinten Hermans (Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert Matériaux) ont complété le top 5.

Le prologue pour Hayter, Dennis 2e, Pinot très loin
Top départ pour la 75e édition du Tour de Romandie ! Comme depuis 2016, l'épreuve suisse du World Tour a débuté par un prologue. C'est la ville de Lausanne qui a été choisie par l'organisation pour être le théâtre du prologue de 5,12 kilomètres. Et au terme de cette première journée, c'est Ethan Hayter (INEOS Grenadiers) qui s'adjuge la victoire ce mardi ainsi que le maillot de leader. Le jeune britannique de 23 ans a ainsi parcouru les cinq kilomètres en moins de six minutes (5'52"). Personne n'a été capable de faire mieux. Celui qui décroche son premier succès au niveau World Tour devance Rohan Dennis (Jumbo-Visma). L'Australien termine à quatre secondes du vainqueur.
